Abstract Design Tutorial

If you'd like to give photoshop a try and make a really interesting abstract design, try the tutorial in my links section. It creates a cool-looking design that you could perhaps use for a poster of cover for something.

Ruby Text Tutorial

This link is in my links section, if you'd like to try out a cool text effect tutorial for photoshop. It gives the text a ruby color and ends up looking really nice.

I found this really cool tutorial on tutorialized.com that makes your text look icy. It's on my links section, but I thought I'd let you all know a little about it. I tried it out myself and it works pretty well.

Tri-Fold Brochure Page 2

This is the second page of my brochure. Remember, it's in a tri-fold format, so the order of the pages might look a little weird.

This is one of the last assignments we did, using Adobe InDesign. I had a lot of fun making it, I chose to advertise a space expedition to Mars. The second page is a separate post.

Cartoon Character

This is a cartoon character I made using Adobe Illustrator. I made it by combining various shapes. This was a very fun project.

Layers Tutorial

This is the tutorial I made that taught me how to use layers to give an enhanced graphic effect. I found this tutorial on Adobe Photoshop tutorials, under the 'help' bar.

Cartoon

This is a cartoon of myself I made by simply taking a picture of myself sitting there. I then used different photoshop editing tools, such as changing the color scheme, to produce an effect that makes it look like I am part of a comic book.

CD Jacket Back

This is the back of my CD jacket. It is followed by the front, if you'd like to see that one too. I simply took a track list from "Modest Mouse". I made the design by creating a shape and abstractly warping it.

CD Jacket Front

This is the front of my CD jacket. It is preceded by the back, if you'd like to see that one too. I made the absract design, again, by warping a shape on Photoshop. Credit to one of my friends for the title and band name.

'Battle of the Bands' Poster

This is a poster I made advertising a Battle of the Bands, held at my school. I simply took images of the web and manipulating their placing as well as color scheme, then added some text.

Spot Color Design

This is simply an assignment that was used to help teach us about spot color. Basically, I started with a black and white image, then added different layers of separate color to the image.

Wanted Poster

You won't see this assignment on anyone else's blog. I made this for a different class, world history, because we were assigned to make a wanted poster. It was pretty fun to read, I chose Joseph Stalin, and his quotes at the bottom are pretty funny.

B-Movie Poster

This was probably the most fun assignment we had. It was near the beginning of the year. I made it by taking pictures of a background as well as my friend and my foot, arranged them such, then manipulated the color scheme.

Gatorade Ad

This was another fun assignment. We were required to advertise some item, and I chose a Gatorade bottle that I had found lying on the ground.

Photoshop Project

This is one of my more recent projects. We were told we could make anything, so I decided to make a movie poster, a play off 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon'. I simply distorted the colors to create an interesting effect.

Peep

We were told to place a peep into a real life situation. I decided to crucify my peep. This one was quite fun, although very easy.

Film Festival Ad

This is another poster I made for a school event. This one is for a film festival. I simply took images and text and placed them together to create a poster.

Greeting Card Inside

This is the inside of a greeting card I made for someone's birthday (no one in particular, though). It goes along with the next post, which is the outside. In this assignment, I implemented my layering skills I had learn from the Layers Tutorial.

Greeting Card Front

This assignment goes along with the preceding post, it is the front of my greeting card. Again, I implemented my layering skills to create a nice design. I got the images off the web.

Baby Mop Ad

This is another advertisement I made. I found it on the internet, and simply added text. I thought this one was pretty funny. By the way, this is a real product in Japan.

Art Expo

This is the third poster I made for a school event, an art expo. I simply got the images off the web and added some text.

Ipod Ad

This is a play off of an Ipod Ad, I used the real Ipod orange color. I simply took shapes, made them silhouettes by changing the colors, then added the Ipod and headphones.

Logo

This is my logo that we made at the beginning of the semester. You can see it in some of my other projects at the bottom. I simply used some different text effects, some of which are exemplified in the next posts.

Mercury Text Effect
